Volunteer Corner

Our People Power movement runs on volunteers like Diana who knock on doors and spread our message.

Here's a little about Diana and why she supports Darren, in her own words: I’m from Utuado, Puerto Rico and moved to central Florida in December 2013. When I moved here, I was lucky to have found friends through volleyball practice and also through my church! I am a current Political Science major at Valencia College on track to one day become an immigration lawyer.

I believe that Congressman Soto is the best candidate to represent district 9 in the U.S. Congress because I’ve seen firsthand how kind-hearted he has been with the people from Puerto Rico. He has dedicated so much time and effort to the Boricuas living here in District 9 and even to the ones still on the island. His roots are from PR and he has not let his people down. In fact, he has done the opposite and has, many times, stood up for our rights as American citizens.”

Tenemos aquí un poco sobre Diana en sus propias palabras: Nací en Utuado, Puerto Rico y me mudé a la Florida Central en el diciembre del 2013. Cuando me mudé de Utuado yo fui tan afortunada de poder hacer amistades a través del entrenamiento de voleibol y también por la iglesia! En este momento tomo clases en Valencia College en camino a adquirir un bachillerato en Ciencias Políticas. Estoy en el camino de ser una abogado de inmigración.

Creo que el congresista Soto es el mejor candidato para representar el Distrito 9 en el Congreso porque he visto personalmente cómo ha sido bondadoso con los puertorriqueños. Él ha dedicado tanto tiempo y ha puesto muchísimo esfuerzo en ayudar a los Boricuas que se encuentran viviendo aquí en el Distrito 9 y también a los que están en la isla. Sus raíces son puertorriqueñas y no ha abandonado a su pueblo. Por el contrario, ha defendido a nuestros derechos como ciudadanos americanos.”
