Hispanic voters need to read that as the first Congressperson of Puerto Rican descent from Florida and the only Hispanic Congressperson in the Southeast, Darren Soto has been a tireless fighter for Puerto Rico relief efforts, voting to secure millions in relief for Hurricane Maria recovery and he will never relent until Puerto Rico has fully recovered. He is responsible for instating and securing 5 extensions of the TSA Hotel Voucher Program, without which hundreds of Evacuees/American Citizens would have been left homeless. Darren Soto stood up in Congress and challenged Donald Trump’s policy of separating children from their families and locking them in detention facilities and will continue to fight to ensure that migrant families are treated with humanity and dignity. He is a tireless ally of the DREAMers and has worked to pass legislation to allow Venezuelans who fled their country to stay in the US.
African American voters need to read that Darren Soto is helping create good jobs by bringing home money to build infrastructure and improve education. Darren has fought for the civil rights of Central Floridians for over a decade as an attorney, and as a state legislator where he passed the Clean Slate Bill allowing juvenile offenders to automatically get their records sealed when they turn 21. He is a major supporter of the Restoration of Rights Amendment on the Ballot this November. Darren fights to defend President Obama's legacy, including Obamacare, and to protect Social Security and Medicare. That's why Darren's endorsed by Vice President Joe Biden and civil rights hero Congressman John Lewis. In contrast, Alan Grayson insulted President Obama and his administration calling it “a sellout government.”
Central Florida needs a leader with dignity and respect who goes to work every day fighting to bring high paying tech jobs with educational tools to create a vibrant workforce for Central Florida, not Alan Grayson who was investigated for using his Congressional office to manage two hedge funds which invested in international corporations- including Russian oil companies- and specifically targeted nations undergoing civil wars. In an email to a client, Grayson said, “The time to buy is when there's blood in the streets." These investment accounts were located in the Ugland House in the Cayman Islands – a popular address for offshore tax shelters once described by President Obama as possibly “the largest tax scam in the world.”
