Darren will protect our healthcare. He is fighting recent cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and the ACA in Congress that are driving up your healthcare costs.

Medicare is a landmark program for our seniors. Over four million Floridians have ACA plans, more than any other state. Medicaid is also critical for seniors, kids, veterans, and Floridians with disabilities.

We saw record cuts to the ACA, Medicaid, and SNAP, as well as $4 trillion added to the National Debt in the Big Ugly Law—all to pay for billionaire tax breaks we can’t afford.

As a result, over 150,000 constituents lost their healthcare this year. This spike in uninsured Floridians is also driving up the cost of employer-based and Medicare Advantage health plans.

Darren is also a strong advocate for local veterans' healthcare. He is proud to have the Lake Nona VA and Kissimmee VA Clinic in his district. He has fought to expand mental health, cardiology, and a secure women’s clinic at the VA Hospital. He also proudly voted for the PACT Act to ensure veterans exposed to toxic burn pits get the care they need, and the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act that closed loopholes to ensure in-service coverage for Vietnam War Navy veterans.
