In fast-growing Central Florida, many families are struggling to buy a home or pay their rent. That’s why Darren has worked so hard to deliver over $133 million in federal funds for affordable housing. This includes Orange County’s Housing for All Program, Accelerate Orlando, Haven on Vine, Thrive, Buen Vecino, and thousands of new affordable apartments. He is a big supporter of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Home Program, VA Loans, and the First-Time Homebuyer Program.

Recently, Darren was proud to vote for the bipartisan 21st Century Road to Housing. This new law restricts institutional investors from buying up single-family homes, streamlines small affordable housing projects, encourages more inclusive zoning, improves VA and First-Time Home Buyer Programs, and includes manufactured homes in HUD programs.
